My Empty Morality

No it's not philosophy
nor decon-ning systems of ethics
nor indeed a subtle double-think
nor in fact cliched double standards
it's just empty
or may be not
when you feel the strands that bind
that make you virtuous are unravelling

And it's pretty damn damning
Intent action and desire
all unite in actions
that are wrong
well not right
but certainly not done with the greater good in mind
certainly not done without over-riding self interest

That's why this is a verse and not prose
well at least broken lines
